You Can Cry
03:34
|
|||
You Can Cry
You can cry, my baby, cry,
Cry all you like.
If it helps I’d like to cry with you.
You can cry, my baby, cry,
Cry all you need.
It seems like yesterday, indeed, I’d cry too.
I’ll not tire,
The years have mellowed me.
Those tears will mend the fire
And end in melody.
You can cry, my baby, cry,
Cry, it’s only fair,
When you wake and find there’s no one there.
You can cry, my baby, cry,
Cry with all your might
It’s not right that you should fight the tears.
I’ll not tire,
The years have mellowed me.
Those tears will mend the fire
And end in melody.
You can cry, my baby, cry,
Cry, you'll always be
Nothing but a blaze of joy to me.

Brave And Kind
05:19
|
|||
Brave And Kind
Use what gifts you’ve been given.
Steal from yourself only.
Take my word, though it’s often forgotten.
I am somewhat disorderly.
I will become more ordinary
In order that you may be extraordinary.
Walk when you want,
Talk when it’s time,
You can do nought
But be brave and kind.
Remember, remember, remember mama
And be brave and kind.
Remember, remember, be kind and brave
And you’ll be extraordinary.

Hush
04:41
|
|||
Hush
Hush,
There’s plenty of room,
It’s quiet and warm,
Here in my arms.
Hush,
We’ll take a train,
Windows will steam,
A shield from the rain.
The sun does what it can
To push through the clouds
And see you again. Hush...
Hush,
We’ll go to the sea,
Where we will stand,
Up to our knees.
The waves progress and regress,
Like pain behaves,
And happiness. Hush…
Hush, you poor little scrap,
Life’s full of mishaps,
What can one say?
The world works that way.
A pony you’ll ride,
You’ll learn to jump
Clear of divides.
The wind just wants a word,
To describe how it feels,
Not to be heard. Hush…
Hush, you poor little scrap,
Life’s full of mishaps.
What can one say?
The world works that way.

Summer
03:50
|
|||
Summer
Hello high,
Absent clouds,
From winters
Never dreamt
Of by flowers.
Hello high,
Laughing trees,
Birds that see
More than I,
Shifting skies.
Summer,
summer’s here,
summer’s here to stay.
Hello high,
Love is like
A wistful breeze,
Lifting smoke
From my eye.
Summer,
summer’s here,
summer’s here to stay.

Ring
04:01
|
|||
Ring
Ring,
Ring,
Ring,
Some
Thing
Is calling
From within,
Their hiding place,
Come show your face.
I’ll give you a name,
A home you’re bequeathed,
A land to breathe,
Pray don’t leave,
As life without you I couldn’t conceive.
A reverie
Now you’re here
There’s nothing dearer.
In reverie
Now you’re here
There’s nothing dearer.

Motet
04:56
|
|||
Motet
Your little, little eyes,
Lashes wee,
Your little brows,
Together is
Poetry.
My motet
My mote.
How can you be so small?
I wait upon your smile,
You’re so beguiling,
You’re all perfect,
You’re
My motet
My mote.
Your sounds complete a song,
And when that ditty’s sung,
I know that you’ll
No longer fit
In my pocket.
My motet
My mote.
You’re mine,
Mine,
Mine, all mine.

Rockaway
04:06
|
|||
Rockaway
Wrapping us up in her cool hands,
Darkness sways and hums.
Before you go and slip away,
Please say how the story ends.
“Rockaway”, she will say, “Rockaway.”
Iridescent wisps of hair
Float in darkened forms and stares.
Coats like ladies watching in chairs,
Reminiscent of somebody there.
“Rockaway, hey, Rockaway, Rockaway.”
We’ve come to the close of the book,
The story lingers awhile,
As dots of dust hang in the air,
Landing in corners overlooked.
“Rockaway, now, Rockaway, Rockaway.”
“Rockaway, Rockaway.”

Don't Go To Sleep
04:34
|
|||
Don’t Go To Sleep
After our bath,
Disguised in white clothes,
We lie in the dark
Of wild shadows.
The room smells of soap,
Our toes are warm through,
Awake in the hope
Of a goodnight from you.
We saved you some soup,
You’ll be returning,
It’s bound to be soon,
We’ll hear the key turning.
Don’t go to sleep,
Waiting for Daddy,
Don’t fall asleep,
Oh Daddy, we’re ready.
Daddy works hard
While we spend time waiting,
That’s his reward
He’ll find us waiting.

Swaying Your Way
02:05
|
|||
Swaying Your Way
Buried in
My embrace,
You’re safe
From the pace
Of days,
Gathering,
Hastening,
The years.
So I’m here,
To keep
The pace,
And we’ll stay
Till you say
It’s time to face
Those days,
Though they don’t
Always
Want to play.
And I might let you down,
Not let you fall,
I’ll be here, swaying your way.
So I’m here,
I’m here,
To keep
The pace.
And we’ll stay
Till you say
It’s time to face
Those days,
Though they don’t
Always
Want to play.
And I might let you down,
Not let you fall,
I’ll be here through hours, years and all.

Love Having Love
05:20
|
|||
Love Having Love
It’s easy living
For your will,
My daily tasks
You’ve filled with meaning.
It’s easy having
You to stay,
I won’t ask how long
You will be staying.
What does it matter
If we’re a little late?
The people and their papers
Can all sit and wait.
There’s nothing happening
While you’re still happy playing.
I love having love.
It’s easy missing
Your tireless mess,
Those noisy whims,
When you are sleeping.
What does it matter
If we’re a little late?
The people and their papers
Can all sit and wait.
There’s nothing happening
While you’re still happy sleeping.
I love having love.
And I feel like waking you up to tell you how much I love having love. It’s not enough, it’s never enough to say how much you love having love. All the things I do, and think of for you, don’t amount to much, compared to how much I love having love. To touch your sweet head, stroke your hair to one side but it’s not enough, like your bowl of fruit I’ve filled is sweet, my bowl overflows as my love grows. It grows on what it feeds, it feeds on your love, it’s never enough, no matter how much. This unquenchable thirst, it’s too much it hurts, I’d give some away, please take some, please say you’ll take some away. And you love having love, it’s never enough, no matter how much, you love having love, it’s never enough, you love having love, you love having, love having love, you love having love.

The Sky's Eyes
03:24
|
|||
The Sky’s Eyes
Ebonized world is told of night’s reprise,
The gold gaze of faraway days,
The sky’s eyes.
The boat I’ll give you might one night capsize,
Whereby you’ll be recognized,
By sky’s eyes.
In lullabies the evening sings then sighs,
Then lies down under abounding
Sky’s eyes.
So my baby, someone always hears your cries,
Those immortalized souls,
The sky’s eyes.

Tu Peux Pleurer
03:24
|
|||
Tu Peux Pleurer
Tu peux pleurer, chéri, pleures,
Tant que tu le veux.
Si tu veux,
Je pleurerai pour toi.
Tu peux pleurer, chéri, pleures,
Tu en as besoin.
C'était hier, ce sera demain
Aussi pour moi.
Ne crains rien,
Le passé m'a adoucie,
Le chagrin m’enchante encore,
Comme une mélodie.
Tu peux pleurer, chéri, pleures,
Tu en as le droit,
Quand au petit jour
Personne n’est près de toi.
Tu peux pleurer, chéri, pleures,
Aussi fort que tu le peux,
De ton coeur, de ton mieux,
De mes yeux.
Ne crains rien,
Le passé m'a adoucie,
Le chagrin m’enchante encore,
Comme une mélodie.
Tu peux pleurer, chéri, pleures,
À chaudes larmes,
Un feu de joie pour moi.
